About Us

First of all, Ron Chapple Studios is way more than Ron! With talented people on our in-house teams and throughout our freelance network, the studio consistently produces high-end creative images and HD video. Our client list includes Disney, National Geographic, PBS/Nature, NBC, Discovery Channel, BBC, CBC, Red Bull, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, NASA, History Channel, and Hawaiian Airlines. Working on location is our life… 300+ days a year. Managing logistics, travel schedules, customs officers, desert heat, helicopters, and snow drifts are all in a day’s work.

On location for National Geographic in the North Carolina mountains and the Cineflex V14HD.

We’re a dynamic and highly responsive team. Sara is our senior photo editor and a genius at everything about geo-coding. Susan and Nicole edit uncompressed video with Final Cut Pro on top shelf 12 core MacPro systems and over 100 terabytes of online storage. Korey is our amazing logistics coordinator. Ron wrangles both the image and video production worlds. Becky, our financial manager, makes sure we maintain our financial integrity. With a never-ending investment in technology and 100% digital workflow, we deliver fresh, highly marketable images and HD video.

Ron Chapple Studios started in the world of fashion, advertising and annual report photography. In the early 1990s, Ron dedicated the studio to creating stock image content for FPG International which is now part of Getty Images. In 2001, the studio created Thinkstock, a internationally distributed royalty-free image collection. Thinkstock was acquired by Jupiterimages in 2004 and subsequently was absorbed by Getty Images a few years later. Ron Chapple Studios now handles a variety of projects from images to aerial HD video, and from geo-coded panoramas to Blu-ray disc production.

Art

In 2009, Ron Chapple and Aerial Filmworks teamed with the The Center for Land Use Interpretation to create a multimedia exhibit that is now in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Susan Dempster color-graded, edited and added the original music score.
