Panoramas

Ribbon Falls, Grand Canyon National Park. Panorama by Sara Woodmansee. Click image to view interactive panorama in new window.

Sara Woodmansee has been working on a comprehensive panorama series of the Grand Canyon National Park for their new Visitor Center, and a virtual tour for their website. Accompanied by two Grand Canyon National Park Rangers, Sara hiked the Canyon from the North Rim to the South Rim, for a total of 10 days over a 3 month period to capture these images.

Each panorama was created by stitching 45 photographs taken with the Canon 5DMII and the MK Panomachine. The files are stitched together using the Autopano Giga and KRPano software, and can be as large as 1 GB in their original stitched form. In order to make them user-friendly, our final files are approximately 300 Mb each. Each panorama is also available as an interactive Flash file created in Autopano Tour, and can also be viewed in Google Earth as a pop-up on the GPS coordinates where the image was originally taken.
