No Rule Book
At sixteen, I sold my motorcycle to buy a Nikon Nikkormat camera. Fifty years later the résumé includes a commercial studio built from the ground up, a leading stock photography company sold to Jupitermedia, aerial cinematography in thirty-plus countries, an innovative geospatial company subsequently acquired by NV5, a shared Pulitzer Prize, and three Emmy awards. The Nikkormat is long gone. The evolution continues.
Public Engagement
I'm available for public speaking. I've spoken at GeoWeek, MAPPS, numerous industry events, and webinars with over 3,000 listeners. In spring 2025, Trimble Applanix — a $100M company — invited me to deliver the keynote at their biennial customer meeting. I'll be a featured speaker at PhotoCON Hawaii in September 2026.
Halfway through I wanted to turn around, my heart pounding, but the dust that enveloped the truck had a will of its own, pushing me inexorably towards the door, the late afternoon sun painting my shadow on the door as I reached my hand to pull open the well-worn handle. No going back now.
